Departure of Terror

The end of an era of terror at Disneyland's California Adventure is approaching. January 2, 2017 will be the last time you can ride the Tower of Terror, a long time park favorite after it closes down permanently. Replacing it will be the new Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission BREAKOUT. The basis for the ride is that Star Lord, Drax, Gamora, Groot, and Rocket Raccoon have been captured by The Collector and are trying to escape his vast collection. While many people don't want this ride to replace a known favorite, some people are looking forward to Disney finally making a Marvel attraction.
There are multiple outlets that Disney has and the one major outlet is Marvel Entertainment/Marvel Cinematic Universe which the Guardians of the Galaxy are apart of. Star Wars took over all of Tomorrowland when The Force Awakens came out and have their very own Star Wars Land on the way, Pixar has attractions in both parks, classic Disney movies are everywhere, and Marvel has two guys dressed up as Spider-Man and Captain America. I do give it to Disney for timing it properly with the release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2. Where a lot of Disneyland and California Adventure fanatics see this as a waste of space, many see it as a perfect opportunity for Disneyland to capitalize and attract more fans of Marvel. People don't want to see the Tower of Terror go. If Disney had made a Twilight Zone reboot in the last 10-15 years, I would say keep it!

A lot of people are upset at the fact the Hollywood Tower of Terror is closing down. I understand why people are upset. It is one of the most well-known attractions at California Adventure, it's fun and it's thrilling! Maybe this will be the first step in Disneyland creating a Marvel-themed area. I can't wait to experience Mission BREAKOUT and to go see Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 which drops in Summer 2017.
