Who Is Rey???

Since Star Wars came out with The Force Awakens in 2015, people wanna know who is Rey? Played by Daisy Ridley, the character of Rey took Episode 7 by storm when her origin story seemed to mirror that of Anakin Skywalker and Luke Skywalker. Her sudden grasp of the force and her ability to use Anakin's lightsaber to fight Kylo Ren raised a lot of questions. Is Rey a Skywalker? Is Rey the daughter of Luke? There are many theories, but I have two that I'm sticking to.
My first theory about Rey is that she is a Skywalker as well as a Kenobi. Which would explain why the Jedi mind-trick she used on the stormtrooper worked so well. I believe with this theory that Luke Skywalker is her father, but her mother is a Kenobi. Obi Wan might have had a secret family in another galaxy or system which included a daughter. After Obi Wan died and the events of Return of the Jedi, Luke went and sought out Obi Wan's family and fell in love with the daughter. Over that time frame, the betrayal of Kylo Ren happened, the First Order was born, Rey was born, and Luke could have hid her on Jakku for her own protection. Much like what Obi Wan did with Luke so that Darth Vader would never find him. And the rebel helmet she has in Episode 7 could be Luke's.
The last theory is that Rey is possibly the second child of Han Solo and Leia Organa. While he was growing up, Kylo Ren or Ben Solo was said to have had a major hatred for his father because Han left at a very difficult time in their lives. There is said to be a nine year age gap between Rey and Kylo Ren. Han and Leia could have had Rey and due to the turn to the Darkside of Kylo Ren, Han might have ran off so that he didn't have to deal with the pain. The story of Star Wars seems to be the Skywalker family possibly bringing balance to the force. Luke could have foreseen the problems and dangers ahead of there being two force-sensitive descendants of the Skywalker bloodline besides himself. General Snoke could be using Kylo Ren to hunt down Rey so that there will be no balance to the force.
There are so many theories looming around with the high anticipation of Episode 8 in December of 2017. Daisy Ridley let it slip that Reys parents will be revealed in the next installment. Many people also believe that the main character in Rogue One, Jyn Erso who is played by Felicity Jones will be teased or revealed as Reys mother. While that's highly unlikely, many fans are hoping that its the truth. I personally think that Maz Kanata, Han Solo, and Leia all know exactly who Rey is. Is she a descendant in the all powerful Skywalker bloodline? Or is she just one of those people who were just force sensitive? Star Wars Episode 8 hits theaters December 15, 2017. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story opens December 16, 2016.

The Doctor Is In!

   Warning: There Are Spoilers Ahead.

Doctor Strange is the story of Stephen Strange. A neurosurgeon, Stephen Strange was successful at performing some of the most impossible surgeries that no other doctor could possibly understand or attempt to do. He was very arrogant and and only cared about himself. Until one night while going to an event, Strange swerved out of control while driving and looking at his phone and crashed his Lamborghini. The end result was seven extensive surgeries on his hands and body that left him unable to work. During his recovery, he tries to find any way possible to get back to work.
The first thing that I really enjoyed about the movie was that it was the most accurate origins movie that Marvel Studios/Disney has put together to date. All of it seemed like it was straight out of a Doctor Strange comic book. It clearly captured the arrogance of Doctor Strange before he became the Sorcerer Supreme. Benedict Cumberbatch did an amazing job playing Doctor Strange. The way Scott Derrickson gave Doctor Strange an amazing debut into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Rachel McAdams did good and was hilarious as Christine Palmer. Despite all of the problems that fans had with the "white-washed" casting, Tilda Swinton brought a different and amazing take on the role of the Ancient One. Chiwetel Ejiofor played Baron Mordo very well. He truly grasped the character of Mordo which is passionate in what he believes in, headstrong, skilled sorcerer, and true to the ancient ways of the natural laws. Mads Mikkelsen played one the MCU's best villains since Loki. In the role of Kaecilius, his main objective was to get revenge on the Ancient One and ready the Earth and universe for Dormammu. Dormammu is an interdimensional being who lives in the Dark Dimension and feeds on other dimensions in the Multiverse. Benedict Cumberbatch played the voice of Dormammu and provided his facial structure for the character.
All of the action scenes were definitely the beginning of a new era for Marvel. They essentially combined a kung fu fighting style with mind-bending effects of magic and sorcery. It was a mix of Fists of Legend and Inception. Most people described as being on acid. The movie does contain an Infinity Stone. Its the 5th one to be revealed out the six. Doctor Strange's Eye of Agamotto contains the Time stone inside of it. That's what gave Strange his powers to manipulate time in the fight with Kaecilius and Dormammu. Baron Mordo mentioned that messing with the natural order would have a price. I'm guessing that Mordo meant that something or someone would come back and attack Doctor Strange. Maybe Dormammu will take his full form in the sequel and defeat Doctor Strange or maybe it will happen in Avengers Infinity War when Thanos will come and try to collect all six Infinity Stones for the Infinity Gauntlet. The mid-credit scene is Thor asking Doctor Strange for his help to find Odin. Doctor Strange pretty much says when you find him, will you leave? Thor says promptly and that leads into Thor Ragnarok. In the end credits scene, Baron Mordo begins his ascension and quest for power after feeling betrayed by the Ancient One and Doctor Strange's choice to manipulate time. He feels like there are too many sorcerers in the world.
The movie overall I give a 9.9/10. It was definitely the best comic book movie of 2016 in my opinion. One of the main reasons why is because it's different from anything that's come out. We have never seen a superhero movie of this caliber with the effects and almost perfect origin portrayal. Don't get me wrong, Captain America Civil War was great, but it was predictable. At some point we all knew that Cap and Iron Man would most likely set aside their differences for a hot second and then get back to trying to kill each other. Great storyline, but predictable plot and climax. Doctor Strange changed the game as far as superhero movies go. The introduction of the Multiverse put it over the top. All of the crazy effects, never seen before fight scenes, and the intro of a new type of hero did the MCU wonders. The only possible type of movie that could top this is if Justice League Dark by DC Comics comes full circle.
